“No,” said Trisha in a cold voice. “No.”
“Can’t we have just one drink just for my sake, please?” Karan pleaded.
“No, no. Goodbye Karan.” Trisha pressed the red button.
Five minutes later her phone started to ring again. It was Karan again. Trisha rolled her eyes and let her phone ring till it stopped again. Five minutes later it started to ring again and stopped after two rings. Then her phone started to ring again, she looked angry at the screen. Her heart skipped a beat, she couldn’t believe it! It was Mr Eye Candy. Now Trisha had an inner debate with herself, should she pick up the phone or not?
Trisha tapped the green button “Trisha,” she said with a smile.
A surprise call
“Hi Trisha, this is Sid here. Sorry for calling you on a Saturday morning. I have been quite busy lately. I was wondering how you were doing?”
“How I am doing? Could you… hmm, refresh my memory?” Trisha heard an airport announcement in the background. Was he going on a romantic getaway with his wife or girlfriend?
“You were sick, remember?”
Trisha frowned. “Ooh, yeah. I completely forgot about that, I am feeling wonderful.” Don’t make a fool of yourself Trisha said her inner voice.
“Good to hear that you are feeling better. Well just wanted to let you know that I am very happy with our latest employee. She knows what she is doing.”
“Good to hear. Are you at the airport?” Trisha couldn’t help asking.
“Yes, I am in New York. I am flying home in about an hour. I can’t wait to be home again. These meetings are exhausting. Well, I better let you enjoy your weekend. Speak to you soon, Trisha.”
“Have a safe flight, Sid. It was a pleasure speaking to you.”
Trisha turned her phone off and screamed softly. She couldn’t believe that he ‘Mr. Eye Candy’ had called her. Trish, she reprimanded herself. Don’t get over-excited. He just called you to ask you how you were doing, out of courtesy.
Wedding Invitation
Trisha was getting ready for the wedding of her best friend’s sister. She hadn’t heard from Sid since he had called her from the airport two weeks ago. When Trisha had received the invitation she hadn’t felt like going but since closing the Karan chapter she felt like she could conquer the world. Meghan one of her BFFs had called her several times this week to make sure that Trisha was attending the wedding.
Her phone beeped, it was a text from her Group Text “Four Divas”.

“Hello, Besties. How are you doing? I am all dolled up. I look wonderful. And April looks like a doll. She is so gorgeous. See you all in a bit.”
“@Trisha. You are seated next to an eligible bachelor. According to April, he is handsome and smart. I haven’t seen him before…”
